摘要

Effective closed-loop supply chain is one of the crucial element of organizational sustainable performance. This study aims to explore the factors that enhance the strategic reverse logistics competence of an organization and further the influence of such competence on the firms’ sustainable performance in the context of Pakistan’s business landscape. Pakistan is a developing country with fifth largest population facing severe challenges due to environmental degradation. At the same time manufacturing organizations are struggling to maintain and enhance their triple-bottom-line. The research design is deductive and includes a survey approach. Self-administered survey instrument was sent to multiple manufacturing firms in Pakistan resulting in the collection of useful data from 159 respondents. Structural equation modeling was applied for hypothesis testing. All hypotheses developed through the extensive literature review have shown a significant relationship. Results reflect that flexibility through logistics service providers, collaboration, and organizational commitment are crucial to build Reverse Logistics Competency (RLC). Moreover, RLC has a significant impact on the firm’s Triple Bottom Line. This research enhances the importance of strategic reverse logistics management and also indicates the enablers and components to develop Strategic Reverse Logistics Capabilities. This research provides some valuable insights for logistics managers working in the context of developing countries to effectively develop RLC and enhance organizational sustainable performance.
