Graphene symmetric mode-assisted highly sensitive electrically tunable terahertz plasmonic gas sensor
摘要
The terahertz arena has attracted more attention in sensing applications, and therefore, several gas sensors at terahertz frequencies have been reported. In an attempt to further augment the sensor’s sensitivity, a tunable terahertz plasmonic gas sensor assisting graphene symmetric mode resonance is proposed. The sensor proffers ultra-high sensitivity of 170 degree/RIU and detection accuracy of 20 degree-1, with a high Figure of Merit of 3400 RIU-1 along with electrical tunability of sensitivity from 170 to 55 degree/RIU and detection accuracy from 20 to 10.01 degree-1. This sensor is beneficial to accomplish desired sensing performance indicators for a specific terahertz gas sensing application.
