摘要

A continuous-wave (CW) orthogonally polarized dual-wavelength (OPDW) Sm3+:LiLuF4 (Sm: LLF) red laser with the equal output powers on 4G5/26H9/2 transition was demonstrated for the first time. We analyzed the condition of gain-to-loss balance via two intracavity etalons to achieve the equal output powers of the OPDW red laser. Under pumping with a frequency-doubled optically pumped semiconductor laser (2ω-OPSL) emitting 10 W at 479 nm, an OPDW red laser at 644 nm in σ-polarization and 649 nm in π-polarization was obtained with the total output power of 322 mW. By dynamically adjusting the tilt angles of the two etalons, we achieved power balance between the two wavelengths across the full pump range. The OPDW Sm: LLF red lasers with the equal output powers were desirable for scientific and practical applications, especially for the development of UV sources.
