摘要

We demonstrate, for the first time, a continuous-wave (CW) Nd:NLW laser that is switchable between single- and dual-wavelength operation on the 4F3/2 → 4I13/2 transition. By rotating the birefringent filter (BF), the laser output can be switched between two single-wavelength operations (at 1340 nm and 1381 nm) and a dual-wavelength operation (at 1340/1381 nm). For the single-wavelength operations at 1340 nm and 1381 nm under 20 W of 808 nm pumping, the maximum output powers were measured to be 5.08 W and 3.64 W, corresponding to slope efficiencies of 25.4% and 20.5%, respectively. The dual-wavelength laser reached a maximum total output power of 2.52 W, with an optical conversion efficiency of 12.6%. This performance was achieved by an optimal output coupler design and precise BF rotation, which enabled a stable power balance between the two wavelengths across the entire pump power range.
