Enhanced noise reduction in IOWC system with various wavelet transform techniques
摘要
This paper explores different wavelet-based techniques to improve system performance in communication systems, where efficiency and noise levels significantly affect overall functionality. The study focuses on three noise reduction methods for digital signals: Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT), Stationary Wavelet Transform (SWT), and a Hybrid DWT-SWT approach. In DWT, the signal undergoes sub-band coding, resulting in lower sub-bands with unequal resolution at high and low frequencies. Conversely, SWT preserves equal-length sub-bands in the decomposed signal. The hybrid DWT-SWT technique combines the high-frequency components from both DWT and SWT to enhance noise suppression. A comparative analysis of these methods is conducted using On-Off Keying (OOK) modulation to optimize the performance of an Indoor Optical Wireless Communication (IOWC) system.
