Temperature dependent downconversion photoluminescence of naturally synthesized carbon dots

In this work, temperature dependent downconversion photoluminescence (PL) of green synthesized carbon dots (CDs) are investigated. Size and structure analysis were done by XRD, dynamic light scattering (DLS), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and selected area electron diffraction (SAED). Absorption studies reveals the formation of CDs with peaks at 304 nm and 295 nm. Downconversion PL emission of samples was observed from 20 oC to 80 oC with 433 nm excitation. Temperature dependency of position of peaks, band width and intensity of downconversion PL emission are examined here, which throw lights on to the electron-phonon interaction and electron-hole recombination in CDs.
