摘要

Using spray pyrolysis, cadmium oxide [CdO] sheets were formed on glass substrate. At a temperature of 300 °C, transparent and conducting CdO films are formed. An estimation of the optical band gap of CdO films formed at 300 °C revealed that it ranged from 2.24 to 2.49 eV. Studies using X-ray diffraction (XRD) show that the polycrystalline cubic CdO phase is forming. According to scanning electron microscopy (SEM), the films produced at 300 °C include spherical-shaped grains that range in size from nanometers. The films’ UV–VIS spectra demonstrated that as the quantity of cadmium chloride in the solution rises, so does the optical band energy.
