A Biosensor For The Detection of Creatinine Concentration In Blood of a Human Using 1D Photonic Crystals
摘要
A biosensor device for creatinine detection in blood of a human has been designed by using one dimensional photonic crystal. Creatinine concentration is more remarkable for kidney function in a human. The proposed biosensor contains two alternate layers of Si and SiO2 materials and a thin blood sample layer is also inserted between these two alternate layers for the creatinine detection in blood sample. The refractive index of blood sample is the function of creatinine concentration. The transfer matrix method is a powerful tool commonly used in photonics to analyze the transmittance, sensitivity, quality factor etc. through layered media. Investigating the influences of variations in the incidence angle for both TE (transverse electric) and TM (transverse magnetic) polarizations, as well as the defect layer thickness, is crucial for optimizing the sensitivity of a biosensor. The sensitivity of the proposed device is 904.76 nm/RIU which is more efficient than previous published work.
