Spectroscopic and optical studies of ytterbium doped boric acid glass system
摘要
Ytterbium ion importance in laser system doped in boric acid glass (H3BO3-Pb2O3-ZnO) containing different concentrations of Yb2O3 doped have been prepared in the temperature range of 12000 C by the rapid cooling method. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern shows the broad peaks of the synthesized samples at around 280, which confirms the glassy nature of the synthesized samples. Laser Raman spectra are recorded in the range of 0 cm− 1 to 4000 cm−1 by excitation with a 532 nm laser and study their vibrational modes for different concentrations of Yb3+ ions. Also, the FTIR spectra were recorded and assigned to various bands and their assignment at different band locations. UV Vis absorption spectra are recorded in the range of 800 nm to 1400 nm. The absorption spectra for the 2F5/2 to 2F7/2 transition of ytterbium ions were investigated. By using absorption spectra, the optical energy band gap and refractive index of the synthesized glasses are calculated. Furthermore, the energy level diagram of the Ytterbium also shows the shifting of peaks as the concentration of Yb3+ is increased and shows the transition from 1G4 to 3H6.
