SPM and SOA based optical gates and half adder
摘要
Optical gates are fundamental elements in all optical computation and communication. By applying logical operations on photon signals through non-linear optical processes, they make it possible to process data in the optical realm. Optical gates are useful in advanced photonic applications because of the huge bandwidth, parallelism, and rapid speed. In the presence of a high-power pump signal and a high SOA injection current, the XGM (Cross Gain Modulation) interaction experienced by a low-power probe signal expands considerably. In addition, at high gain and low saturation power SOA, the XGM interaction rises. We have designed all optical XOR, XNOR logic gate and half adder at 90Gb/s. Furthermore, the suggested XOR gate is used to create an all-optical Half Adder. By taking these factors into account, we are able to achieve high extinction ratios and high-quality factors for all optical logic gates at bit rates of up to 90 Gb/s. This raises the prospect of building an all-optical network with excellent performance.
