摘要

In this study, a Bismuthene-coated-silver based D-shaped photonic crystal fiber (PCF) surface plasmon resonance (SPR) biosensor is proposed to sense the change in refractive index for colorectal cancer (CRC) detection. Colorectal cancer cells can adhere to the Bismuthene surface with the help of bovine serum albumin (BSA). The colorectal tissue sample consists of the interstitial fluids (ISF) and different scatterers. The diseased tissue sample (fSP) in this investigation has a scatterers volume fraction that varies between 0.35, 0.45, 0.65, and 0.75. The finite-element method has been used to investigate the performance-defining parameters. The proposed sensor shows the maximum wavelength sensitivity of 18,330 nm/RIU in the refractive index range from 1.3433 to 1.3733. Based on the obtained very high sensitivity, it is believed that the proposed sensor can be utilized for the detection of colorectal cancer.
