Spectroscopic studies of CrO3: boricacid glass (BAG)
摘要
Boric acid-based glass of composition H3BO3-Pb2O3-ZnO containing different concentrations of CrO3 ranging from 0.01 to 0.04 mol% were Synthesized in the temperature range of 10500C-11500C. UV–VIS and Raman spectra were recorded for the range 200 nm to 800 nm and 0 to 4000 cm−1 respectively. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern confirmed the glassy nature of the glass samples. Laser Raman spectra have been recorded using 532 nm and 785 nm to study the vibrational characteristics of the glass structure. Chromium-doped boric acid glasses show BO3 and BO4 structural units in the FT-IR studies. The Tauc’s Plot calculations show the optical band gap of the synthesized sample to be nearly 3 eV which is approximately equal to other CrO3 doped glasses. The fluorescence spectra were recorded to study the spectral features of Cr3+ ions in glass matrix. Furthermore, the optical absorption spectra provide useful information about the crystal field strength(10Dq), the interelectronic interaction, or the Racah parameters B and C. The Fourier equation is used to deconvolute the Raman spectra and fluorescence spectra for its analyser.
