摘要

This simulation study conducts a comprehensive numerical examination of solid-state quantum dot solar cells (SSQDSCs) using PEDOT: PSS poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) polystyrene sulfonate as both a hole transport and absorber layer. The investigation is carried out through the utilization of SCAPS-1D simulation software. The research explores the performance evaluation of solar cells comprising FTO (Fluorine-doped Tin Oxide) as the front contact and a combination of metal oxides including TiO2, CdS quantum dots, PEDOT: PSS, and Pt as the back contact, collectively referred to as Solid State Quantum Dot Solar Cells (SSQDSCs). The study systematically optimizes the thickness of each layer and the advantage of ultrathin layer of TiO2 and thoroughly explores the impact of various CdS quantum dots. Furthermore, the research investigates interface defects at the PEDOT: PSS/CdS junction, including modifications to the bulk defects of PEDOT: PSS. Additionally, the study analyzes the influence of variations in metal work function in each case, focusing on critical parameters such as open-circuit voltage (VOC), short-circuit current density (JSC), fill factor (FF), and power conversion efficiency (PCE). The outcomes of this study demonstrate that fine-tuning these variables holds the promise of elevating solar cell efficiency up to 17%. These simulation results offer valuable insights that can be used for comparing and gaining a better understanding of the difficulties faced in experimental research.
