Structural, morphological and antibacterial for cadmium oxide nanoparticles prepared via pulsed laser ablation

摘要

This paper aimed to investigate the efficacy of cadmium nanoparticles (CdO NPs) synthesized by pulsed laser ablation method (PLA) with different laser power (200,300,400,500) mJ. in inhibiting biofilm formed by two types of bacteria (Staph bacteria and E. coli). The resultant CdO NPs were characterized by using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM) and Atomic force microscopy (AFM) and. UV–Vis spectroscopy. The CdO NPs produced had a spherical form and a roughly Gaussian size distribution. X-ray diffraction for the generated nanoparticles revealed that the samples had a tiny crystalline size, while SEM images revealed that the resultant nanoparticles ranged from too small to tan small. Affected energy gap as increase laser energy decrease the band gap with increase laser energy. their efficacy in inhibiting Staph and E.coli biofilm was studied by the microtiter plate method. The results revealed that PLA succeeded in the synthesis of CdO NPs with a size range of 5.9–18 nm. Markedly with incrased laser energy, the present findings indicated a significant decrease in the intensity of all tested biofilm in the presence of CdO NPs as compared with non-treated cells. In fianal, CdO NPs synthesized by PLA acted as antibiofilm agents and could be used for biomedical applications.
