Second harmonic generation of high power cosh-gaussian laser beam in collisional magnetized plasma

In the present communication, Second harmonic generation (SHG) of high power Cosh-Gaussian (ChG) laser beam in collisional magnetized plasmas is explored. In collisional magnetized plasmas, there are two modes of propagation viz. ordinary and extra-ordinary modes during transition of laser beam along external magnetic field. The electron redistribution takes place due to variation in magnetic field. Density gradients are produced in a transverse direction of the pump beam due to non-uniform heating. Electron plasma wave(EPW) is excited at the frequency of pump beam due to density gradients. EPW interacts nonlinearly with pump wave to produce 2nd harmonics. The 2nd order ODE for beam waist of pump beam and the efficiency of 2nd harmonics has been derived through well-established paraxial theory approach. The solution of differential equation and efficiency of 2nd harmonics have been obtained numerically. Finally, effect of well-established laser-plasma parameters and external magnetic field on beam waist of pump beam and 2nd harmonic yield is also investigated.
