Performance study of the compensations dispersion systems for an optical filter bank multicarrier transceivers technique

Filter Banks Multi-Carrier with Offset QAM (FBMC-OQAM) modulation has a high spectrum efficiency. Because it eliminates the cyclic prefix entirely. Chromatic dispersion (CD) is the result of distinct spectrum components of the transmitted signal moving through the optical fiber at different rates, which impairs optical transmission. The trimmed DFT spread based FBMC is suggested as a way to improve the FBMC system’s functionality even further. The out-of-band emission issue will be lessened and the spectral efficiency will be greatly increased by the FBMCOQAM with trimmed DFT. To account for the CD, FBMC estimation methods and channel equalization are used. Many equalization techniques are used in this study, including frequency spreading, overlap-saving, parallel Analysis Filter Bank (AFB), single-tap, and multi-tap frequency sampling. To realize a high spectral efficiency, the subcarrier number must be sufficiently high, so it will work on 256 subcarriers with a cable length of up to 3000 km. A new simple phase noise (PN) estimation algorithm is developed, which can be seen as an adaptive maximum likelihood (AML) algorithm.
