摘要

This experimental study explores how the Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT) protocol can be utilized to integrate IoT-based applications for controlling Smart Street Lighting Systems (SSLS) in India. Additionally, it verifies the photometric outcomes of the Beam Angle Switching (BAS) lighting configuration, a cutting-edge energy-saving technique designed for street lighting. In rapidly developing countries like India, adequately illuminated streets are essential for both transportation and cultural exchange. Street lighting need to be adaptable to real-time traffic and environmental conditions while minimizing energy consumption. This study examines the implementation of BAS in an IoT-based wireless setup, aiming to identify a sustainable, energy-efficient solution for adaptive SSLS. The results from this laboratory study have significant implications for the deployment of this system in India’s street lighting scenario, showcasing the effectiveness of wireless control of LED luminaires and promising improvements in lighting parameters. The primary goal is to find a green solution for adaptive SSLS, enhancing sustainability and efficiency in street lighting design.
