Design of humidity sensor by using double defect layered 1D ternary photonic band gap structure
摘要
In this paper, humidity sensor is designed by using double defect layered 1D Ternary Photonic Band Gap (PBG) structure. This sensor can detect humidity in air. This sensor consists of 24 periods of three different materials and two air grooves after sixth and eighteenth periods respectively in the structure. When this sensor is kept in dry air, the dry air will pass through the air grooves and this structure will generate a light spectrum (treated as a reference spectrum). If this sensor is kept in humid environment, then humid air will pass through the air grooves and this structure will generate a light spectrum that will be different from reference light spectrum. Thus, humidity in the air can be detected by monitoring output light spectrum. Further, it is found that the sensitivity of double defect layered 1D ternary PBG structure is more than single defect layered 1D ternary PBG structure.
