Satellite backhaul for enhancing reliability of the mixed FSO/RF downlink systems with interference and hardware limitations
摘要
The research work aims to study a terrestrial cooperative relaying system aided with a Satellite link as a backup, in the presence of interference and non-ideal hardware. Specifically, the reliability of the downlink free space optical (FSO) / radio frequency (RF) cooperative relaying strategy has been investigated by providing an additional Satellite-to-ground link as a backup. Analytical closed-form expressions have been derived for the outage probability and bit error rate (BER) of the system considering the effect of hardware impairment and interference. The analysis for the outage probability has been further exploited to constitute the high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) approximate expression in terms of elementary functions. The results demonstrate the fact that the Satellite backup improves the reliability of the system.
