Performance Evaluation Of Various Dispersion Compensation Techniques
摘要
In the field of communication currently, the optical fiber communication system is crucial. Despite the many advantages of the optical fiber communication technology, dispersion was considered to be one of the primary issues. This research included a comparison of the simulation and design of several dispersion compensating techniques. For optical communication systems, a variety of optical fiber dispersion correction technologies are widely utilized, including Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) and Dispersion correction Fiber (DCF). These are often regarded as essential methods to make up for the dispersion. Opti-System software has been used to assess the results of simulation based on different factors. Once the BER hits 1.610-14 at 1600 nm wavelength and the Q-factor is 7.8 at the 0.000085 eye opening, the system operates at its best. With the correct parameters the CW laser wavelength, the fiber distance (km), and the attenuation coefficient (dB/km) at the transmitter side—the modal was modeled. Three different metrics, including eye-opening, Q factor, and BER, were examined.
