Synthesis and photoluminescence study of Sm3+-activated KBaY(BO3)2 phosphor for solid-state lighting
摘要
In the present paper, we have synthesized the series of Sm3+-activated KBaY(BO3)2 phosphor by combustion method at temperature 650 ± 10 °C. For confirmation of phase purity and crystalline structure of phosphor, XRD analysis is carried out. Fourier-transform spectroscopy (FTIR) analysis has been carried out for the study of different functional group, which conforms the formation of Y–O, B–O, C=C, O–H bonds in the KBaY(BO3)2:Sm3+ phosphor. The photoluminescence emission spectra of KBaY(BO3)2:Sm3+ phosphor show the optimal concentration at 1 mol% with emission at 566 nm (green), 602 nm (orange–red), and 648 nm (red) due to the 4G5/2 → 6H5/2, 4G5/2 → 6H7/2, and 4G5/2 → 6H9/2 transition of Sm3+ ion under 405 nm excitation. The excitation spectra show charge transfer band and several narrow peaks near-UV region with remarkable peak at 405 nm. The CIE coordinates (x, y) for wavelength 566 nm are (0.415, 0.582), 602 nm are (0.635, 0.363), and for wavelength 648 nm are (0.724, 0.275).
