Study the geometrical size effect of bulk KDP crystal for optical modulation application

In this contribution work, the specific characteristics of the optical modulator of potassium dihydrogen phosphate crystal have been investigated. The results of the transverse configuration setup are shown; the important parameter half-wave voltage (Vπ) was decreased to 600 V. The temperature induced by the applied voltage was stable, and the signal transferred by the laser He–Ne is unaffected. Further, the change of visible wavelength at 532 nm and design size pattern slices of crystal permit to positively enhance the optical modulator. The figure of merit analytical typically showed a good performance of optical modulator and permit to indusial manufacture to choose a convenient voltage applied and the considerable length of the used crystal.
