Graphene-based hybrid material micro strip slotted antenna for THz application

摘要

This paper presents a novel microstrip slotted patch antenna for THz sensing applications. The antenna design incorporates two substrates with patch constructed using graphene material. To excite the radiating element, a silver nanostrip feedline is utilized, which provides proximity coupling. A wide bandwidth and excellent directivity are features of the suggested antenna. It operates at frequencies of 10.75 THz with a remarkable bandwidth of 11.21% spanning from 10.2 to 11.4 THz. The directivity is achieved at 10.16 dB, while efficiency reaches more than 97.2%. Further, 2D radiation pattern has been plotted and analysed. Additionally, a parametric analysis is conducted to optimize impedance matching and frequency tune by adjusting the external bias voltage applied to the microstrip patch graphene antenna. The proposed antenna, along with its impressive performance characteristics, demonstrates its suitability for various THz sensing uses.
