Ants (Formicidae: Hymenoptera: Insecta) of the Indo-Myanmar Biodiversity Hotspot: New Records and a Revised Checklist for Manipur
摘要
Ants play a crucial role in ecosystems, influencing various ecological processes and serving as indicators of environmental health. Despite their importance, a comprehensive account of ant diversity across the state of Manipur has not yet been compiled. This study aimed to address this gap by surveying previously unexplored areas near the India–Myanmar border. As a result, 26 additional ant species and four new genera have been recorded, significantly enriching the existing checklist of Manipur's ant fauna.
