摘要

This article is the first to examine which mentalities regarding work can be empirically identified among social workers. Work mentalities can be understood as the implicit, action-guiding, and normatively shaped moral grammars that inform actors’ perceptions of and practices within the occupational context. Using a sequential mixed methods parallel design, we identified four distinct work mentalities and traced their development. The resulting typology shows that the field of social work is shaped by diverse work mentalities that manifest as specific profiles of different work orientations.
