<p>The article “rediscovers” studies from Gerd Iben and his research team on the living conditions of homeless families and their children. It presents the works “Kinder am Rande der Gesellschaft” (1968) and “Randgruppen der Gesellschaft” (<CitationRef CitationID="CR2">1971</CitationRef>). In this context, the contribution of these research perspectives on poverty and homelessness to contemporary social pedagogical poverty research is discussed.</p>

The article “rediscovers” studies from Gerd Iben and his research team on the living conditions of homeless families and their children. It presents the works “Kinder am Rande der Gesellschaft” (1968) and “Randgruppen der Gesellschaft” (1971). In this context, the contribution of these research perspectives on poverty and homelessness to contemporary social pedagogical poverty research is discussed.
