<p>The study explores how neighbourhood residents work on participation in the context of urban development. The aim of this qualitative ethnographic study is to highlight the range of different forms of participation: from organised forms that use methodological instruments to promote participation to the participation demands of individuals or small groups in their everyday lives in their neighbourhoods and communities. This focus prevents parallel discourses on participation from being reproduced in research.</p>
