Making Family aus der Perspektive von Ein-Eltern-Familien

This article summarizes selected results from an explorative–descriptive study conducted with single parents. The underlying sample comprised interviews with users and potential users of a free telephone legal consultation service for questions related to separation and divorce. This article focuses on the analyzed experiences of single parents seeking support by educational and legal professionals whom they encountered in the process of their conflictual separation. The empirical findings are analyzed using the undoing family approach and discussed with a specific focus on the experience of the external professionals and their involvement in “making family processes” from the perspective of those seeking assistance.
