Familien(er)leben in Erwerbsarmut

The research project, funded by Swiss National Science Foundation, aims to investigate the effects of in-work poverty on family life, in particular the associated caregiving responsibilities and the perspective of children and parents. Using a qualitative, multiperspectivist approach, the subjective experiences of family members in 42 households are analyzed. The project generates knowledge about children and parents affected by in-work poverty, and gives children their own voice independent of their parents. It thus contributes to raising awareness to precarious living situations, laying the foundation for improving the structural conditions for children growing up.
