Requirement setting, flow down, traceability and maintenance for ESA EO Phase 0/A using MBSE philosophy
摘要
A key activity in EO Phase 0/A studies is the management and derivation of requirements from Mission and Science Objectives. The Earth Observation Future Missions and Instruments Division at the European Space Agency has implemented a database approach to requirement management, transitioning from document-centric to a single-source-of-truth database. This approach enhances traceability, consistency, and efficiency, addressing challenges in maintaining complex requirements across multiple documents with multiple stakeholders. We present this methodology, applied successfully in Earth Observation missions such as EE10 Harmony and EE11 Wivern. The paper discusses the implementation, feedback, tools used, and outlines future steps for advancing this model-based systems engineering (MBSE) philosophy.
