<p>The 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake caused submarine landslides in several places in Toyama Bay. To investigate the post-earthquake impact of these landslides on red snow crab resources in the central area of Toyama Bay, we conducted annual surveys and compared the results of habitat density and the number of captures with those before the event. The bathymetric surveys confirmed the traces of submarine landslides in the central part of Toyama Bay at a depth of 1000–1250&#xa0;m. Results from subsequent population density surveys using a towed deep-sea video camera showed that the median density decreased from 23.7 individuals (ind.)/1000 m<sup>2</sup> in 2023 to 12.6 ind./1000 m<sup>2</sup> in 2024 after the event. The rate of change in 2023–2024 was −46.8%, marking the largest decrease compared to those before the earthquake. Sledge nets surveys revealed that the sampling density after the earthquake had declined from that of the pre-earthquake ones. Finally, based on small-mesh crab trap surveys, the male crab number caught per trap before the earthquake ranged from 18.9 to 42.0 ind./trap, but after the earthquake, it decreased to 5.55 ind./trap. These results lead to the conclusion that the red snow crab stock in Toyama Bay has been affected by submarine landslides and their associated turbidity currents.</p>
