Maximum sustainable yield reference points (MSY-RPs) are usually calculated assuming spawner-recruitment relationships (SRR) and population dynamics of the stock. However, due to the difficulty of estimating SRR, the uncertainty in MSY-RPs is often too large to be put into practice.
