The High Cycle Bending Fatigue Property of Quenched Crankshaft Based on the Stress Field Intensity Method and the Multi-physic Field Coupling Numerical Simulation Approach

摘要

The applicability of electromagnetic induction quenching method has spread to the engine industry, especially for the parts made of metal materials such as the crankshafts. Quantitative methods are used to study the strengthening effect of this technique. The multi-physics simulation is first achieved to capture key information generated by this approach, such as the temperature and residual stress distribution property. Then the fatigue limit load is predicted based on the simulation results and the stress field intensity method. Finally, the feasibility of this prediction method is verified through standard bending fatigue experiment. The results prove that the prediction method can provide accurate results consistent with the experimental results, which makes it has a wide prospect for promotion and application.
