摘要

Accurate wind profiles are essential for weather forecasting, synoptic analysis, and nowcasting of rapidly evolving weather phenomena like thunderstorms. Radar-derived wind profiles offer high-resolution, real-time observations, making them valuable for operational meteorology. This study evaluates Volume Velocity Processing (VVP)-derived winds against traditional Radio Sonde Radio Wind (RSRW) observations over Delhi to assess their accuracy and reliability. The analysis, conducted at key WMO pressure levels, shows a strong correlation between radar-derived and RSRW winds, validating their operational utility. Enhancing the accuracy of radar-derived winds can improve weather predictions, leading to more precise warnings and reduced socio-economic impacts of extreme weather events.
