Burgers als oplossing
摘要
Worldwide, environmental pollution harms biodiversity and human health, which can cause problems for ecosystems, communities, and economies. A lack of integrated pollution measurements and fragmented responsibility across different ministries and policy levels perpetuate these problems. This case study on air quality in South Limburg highlights the potential of citizen science in addressing regional pollution issues. The past has shown that citizens are capable of driving change by contributing to an integrated monitoring network and demanding action from highly polluting industries. Citizen science connects environmental management with collective action and strengthens the position of communities as drivers of change.
