Palliatieve zorg: van toekomstverkenning naar discussies in het veld
摘要
Palliative care is care and support for people with an incurable condition, focusing on physical, psychological, social, and spiritual dimensions. The demand for palliative care is growing, and new challenges are emerging. The RIVM carried out a foresight study, dealing with the questions: How to provide appropriate care in a diverse society? How to deal with the shift in causes of death? How to reduce the pressure on (in)formal caregivers? Three future scenarios were developed, focusing on the community, the individual, and the professional, respectively. These scenarios serve as input for discussion about future palliative care in the Netherlands.
