<p>Skin cancer is the most common and fastest-growing form of cancer in the Netherlands. Over the past five years, organizations have worked closely together on prevention, resulting in initiatives like the Sun Protection Action Platform and the Dutch Skin Cancer Care Steering Committee. Awareness campaigns have increased knowledge about sun protection, and recommendations have influenced government policies. Despite these successes, challenges remain, such as embedding preventive measures structurally and reaching various high-risk groups. Further steps are needed to reduce skin cancer incidence. This article reflects on the progress made and discusses necessary next steps to further reduce the impact of skin cancer.</p>
