<p>Who decides on Greenland? What rules are applicable? Donald Trump’s claim that the USA will somehow “get” Greenland has reignited the debate on rules around land acquisition. Existing international law does not provide clarity on this matter. A&#xa0;widely recognized set of rules still needs to be developed for conflicts of this nature. This article outlines such a&#xa0;set of rules and shows how they could be constructively applied to the case of Greenland.</p>
