The geopolitical importance of the Arctic is based on its location on the Atlantic and Indo-Pacific, between the USA and Russia, and its economic potential, particularly as a result of melting ice due to global warming. The article addresses Chinese and Russian activities, the Arctic strategies of the United States and the EU, maritime borders, new shipping routes, and Greenland’s independence.
