Tourism Village Governance Model Based on Geotourism in The Karangsambung-Karangbolong National Geopark Area
摘要
Karangsambung Tourism Village, a core component of the Karangsambung-Karangbolong National Geopark, possesses significant geo-biodiversity and cultural heritage that underpin geotourism development. Ideally, geopark-based geotourism integrates education, conservation, and local economic enhancement. However, Karangsambung faces critical governance challenges, including illicit sand mining, limited community engagement, and suboptimal tourism strategies that deviate from fundamental geopark principles. This study employs a qualitative case study approach to develop a robust governance model aimed at aligning local potential with global geopark objectives. The findings propose the “Geopark Corner” as a strategic interactive hub for geotourism management. This model serves as an integrated information and service center, facilitating education, training, and community empowerment. Furthermore, the Geopark Corner acts as a collaborative nexus between diverse stakeholders through five key components: geocommunity, geofriends, geocompany, geoproduct, and geoproducer. This framework provides a practical pathway for transitioning from extractive activities to sustainable, conservation-based regional development.
