Vulnerability of Geoheritage in Tourism Destinations in Iran
摘要
The current study was conducted with the aim of evaluating the vulnerability of geoheritage in tourism destinations. Data were collected by field method. Data analysis was done using structural equation modeling technique as well as descriptive and inferential statistics. Lorestan province in Iran was selected as the study area for the research. The findings revealed that the geoheritage in Lorestan is in a relatively unfavorable vulnerability condition. Among the antecedent factors, social issues—such as low public awareness and a lack of sense of belonging to geoheritage—play the most significant role in increasing vulnerability. Additionally, inadequate physical infrastructure, environmental limitations, and economic pressures further contribute to this situation. Regarding the drivers of vulnerability, key challenges include the absence of a clear legal framework, limited financial and human resources, poor stakeholder coordination, and weak conservation knowledge. In general, it should be noted that awareness of the vulnerability factors of geoheritage is a necessary condition for the conservation of these phenomena. In this regard, first of all it is necessary to focus on the vulnerable drivers and develop the necessary mechanisms to control them. In the next step, it is necessary to improve the situation of the vulnerability antecedents of the geoheritage, so that the level of vulnerability of the geoheritage in the face of human and natural threats can be controlled and reduced.
