<p>The Takutu Sedimentary Basin is located in the central portion of the State of Roraima, connecting the municipalities of Boa Vista and Bonfim in Brazil, and extends to the neighbouring country, Guyana. The main objective of this work was to carry out an inventory and assessment of geological sites of interest in the Brazilian portion of the basin, with a view to potential educational and tourism use. The methodology of the work made use of the division of geological sites of interest into thematic categories (or frameworks) and quantitative evaluation considering parameters such as scientific value; potential educational and tourist uses; and risk of degradation. The chosen thematic categories were: a) Pre-rift; b) Rift; c) Syneclise (which represent the different stages of basin evolution already described in the literature); d) Quaternary deposits and relief evolution encompassing a total of 12 geological sites, being 11 geosites and 1 geodiversity site. Initially, 36 potential sites were selected, but only 12 sites were chosen to compose the final inventory list. The geosites with a moderate to high risk of degradation are also the ones with significant didactic potential, thus demonstrating that many of the geosites are exposed to the possibility of deterioration of geological elements or are close to areas and/or activities that could cause the degradation of geological information. The geological sites of the Brazilian portion of the Takutu Basin possess relevant scientific information and the capacity for educational uses at different levels of education.</p>
