DrawDio-Enhanced STEM Learning: A Comparative Study of Robot- and Tablet-Facilitated Project-Based Multimodal Storytelling
摘要
This study investigates the impact of DrawDio-enhanced project-based learning (PBL) on high school students’ STEM knowledge acquisition and attitudes, utilizing multimodal storytelling frameworks. A comparative experiment was conducted with 60 second-grade students from SMK Negeri 2 Samarinda, Indonesia, examining the effectiveness of robot-facilitated versus tablet-facilitated PBL approaches. The findings reveal that both methods significantly enhanced students’ learning outcomes and fostered positive attitudes toward STEM education. Notably, robot-facilitated PBL was particularly effective in inspiring students to pursue STEM careers, offering immersive, hands-on experiences that deepened their engagement and understanding. In contrast, tablet-facilitated PBL excelled in promoting scientific thinking, enjoyment, and leisure-based exploration. These results underscore the value of integrating physical tools like DrawDio with multimodal digital elements to enrich project-based learning environments. The study offers insights into how educators can strategically implement technology-enhanced PBL to sustain student interest and nurture long-term commitment to STEM fields.
