Refractory ulcerative colitis patient keeping complete remission with drug-free after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation for ileocecal diffuse large B-cell lymphoma
摘要
A 48-year-old man with ulcerative colitis (UC), previously treated with autologous peripheral blood stem cell transplantation (auto-PBSCT) for rectal diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), presented with intestinal obstruction owing to recurrent ileocecal DLBCL. He had experienced a severe relapse of UC two years ago and was treated with tacrolimus as an induction therapy. His UC had achieved clinical remission and kept clinical remission with immunomodulator and 5-aminosalicylic acid. He underwent ileocecal resection followed by allogeneic PBSCT (allo-PBSCT). After allo-PBSCT, both his DLBCL and UC have been keeping medication-free complete remission for five years. Reports of UC patients undergone hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) are limited. This is the first case of the UC patient undergone allo-PBSCT for recurrent DLBCL after auto-PBSCT, in which UC has been keeping complete remission with drug-free after the allogeneic transplantation. Therefore, we present this case report and review the existing literatures on HSCT for inflammatory bowel disease.
