摘要

Lentigo maligna (LM) is an in situ melanoma of chronically actinically damaged skin in the facial area of predominantly older patients. Special characteristics of the facial skin, difficult to assess subclinical spread and progression of LM and similarity to other UV-related lesions pose diagnostic and therapeutic challenges for LM. The most important tools for clinical evaluation include dermatoscopy and supplementary in vivo confocal microscopy, while the diagnosis is usually confirmed by histopathology in conjunction with immunohistochemical staining and clinical information. In addition to primary diagnostics, the tasks for these tools also include preoperative planning of a resection, assessment of the radicality and effectiveness of treatment as well as evaluation of potential recurrences.
