Medizinisch-beruflich orientierte Rehabilitation bei onkologischen Erkrankungen
摘要
Work-related medical rehabilitation (WMR) is a multimodal program designed to reduce health-related discrepancies between work-related capacities and job demands in order to support work participation among individuals at increased risk of unsuccessful return to work. In the oncological setting, WMR is particularly relevant due to disease- and treatment-related somatic, psychosocial, and cognitive impairments that may hinder a return to work. Although a randomized controlled trial has not yet shown improved work participation in favor of oncological WMR, notable benefits were observed—particularly among individuals participating in WMR during repeated treatment after postacute rehabilitation—with regard to health-related outcomes. The development of indication-specific practice recommendations, incorporating both clinical and patient perspectives, may help to better align WMR components with the challenges faced by cancer survivors when returning to work.
