摘要

Parental cancer in living situations with responsibility for underage children presents a complex challenge. The associated considerable distress for all family members can lead to subsequent psychological illnesses. The perspective of health insurance coverage only slowly opens up to relatives, including preventing their respective secondary risk of disease. Funded by the German Innovationsfonds, the new “Family Scout” intervention conducted within the Center for Integrated Oncology Aachen Bonn Cologne Düsseldorf (CIO-ABCD) was evaluated for these families and demonstrated its effectiveness. Consequently, the Federal Joint Committee (G-BA) now recommends its implementation in standard care.
