摘要

Malignant melanoma is one of the most common tumor diseases. It has gained importance in recent years not only due to the increase in incidence but also due to the rapid development of treatment. Innovations in the field of drug-based cancer therapy have significantly improved its prognosis, especially in advanced stages. While the use of chemotherapeutic agents has become much less important, the significance of mutation analysis and PD-L1 status has increased. The treatment recommendations of the current Association of the Scientific Medical Societies in Germany (AWMF) guideline currently lag behind the current study situation. There have been some innovations here, particularly in locally advanced tumors. One of these innovations is the additional neoadjuvant use of immunotherapy in combination with adjuvant therapy. Due to the advanced treatment options in the field of drug-based tumor therapy, malignant melanoma is considered a prime example here. The use of off-label treatment and inclusion in clinical studies can also serve as a model for other solid tumors.
