Operative Zugänge zum Mittelgesicht und zur Frontoorbitalregion im Rahmen der ablativen und rekonstruktiven Chirurgie
摘要
Diseases of the midface and the fronto-orbital region range from craniofacial malformations, posttraumatic deformities and tumors to degenerative and inflammatory processes. The treatment in this field includes functional aspects and also demanding esthetic components. The close topographical location makes the complete resection of benign tumors and the implementation of complex reconstructive procedures more difficult and, especially in the case of malignant tumors, creates tension between the oncologically required safety margin and the preservation of esthetics and function within the framework of reconstructive measures. This CME article provides an overview of the most frequent surgical approaches to diseases of the midface and fronto-orbital region. The decisive steps in the procedure are explained taking important anatomical structures into account. Examples of the indications for each approach are discussed and the main possible complications are mentioned.
