Die Bedeutung der geriatrischen Rehabilitation nach chirurgischen Eingriffen (Mundhöhle, Rachen)
摘要
Appropriate assessment procedures can reveal deficits in a wide variety of domains. The results should be incorporated into individual treatment planning but can also pave the way for rehabilitation. Geriatric rehabilitation is a good alternative for patients with acute illness and an impending or preexisting loss of independence due to their state of health. Geriatric rehabilitation can take place on an inpatient, outpatient, or mobile basis. Due to the holistic approach, alongside medical and nursing care, all therapeutic professions are represented in geriatric rehabilitation, including speech therapy and nutritional medicine. However, in Germany, not all federal states offer state-wide geriatric rehabilitation as yet. When planning rehabilitative care for older patients after oral and maxillofacial surgery, the possibility of geriatric rehabilitation should always be considered.
